• Compliance Reports: Detailed analysis, compliance scores, and actionable recommendations
• Knowledge Resources: Educational guides on GDPR, CCPA, EU AI Act, and compliance best practices
• Document Generation (Coming Soon): Tools for generating legal policy documents in the future

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

4. Subscription and Payments

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds for partial months.

5. Compliance Scanner Accuracy & Limitations

5.1 How the Scanner Works

Our compliance scanner analyzes publicly available information on websites by:

• Fetching static HTML content from the provided URL
• Searching for links to privacy policies, terms & conditions, and cookie notices
• Detecting tracking scripts (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
• Analyzing policy content for GDPR and CCPA language
• Generating a compliance score and recommendations

5.2 Scanner Limitations

IMPORTANT: Our scanner has technical limitations you should be aware of:

• Static HTML Only: The scanner analyzes static HTML content and cannot execute JavaScript or interact with dynamic content loaded after page load
• JavaScript-Heavy Sites: Websites using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) or enterprise architectures may show incomplete results
• Publicly Available Content: The scanner can only analyze publicly accessible content and cannot access password-protected areas
• English Language: The scanner is optimized for English-language policies and may not accurately detect compliance language in other languages
• Pattern Matching: Detection is based on pattern matching and keywords, not legal analysis

5.3 No Legal Advice & Accuracy Disclaimer

CRITICAL: PolicyGen Compliance is NOT a law firm and does NOT provide legal advice.

• Scan results are informational only and should not be relied upon as legal advice
• We do NOT guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or correctness of scan results
• A high compliance score does NOT mean you are legally compliant
• A low compliance score does NOT necessarily mean you are non-compliant
• Laws vary by jurisdiction and change frequently - scan results may not reflect current legal requirements
• You are solely responsible for ensuring your website complies with applicable laws
• For specific legal questions or to ensure compliance, you MUST consult a qualified attorney licensed in your jurisdiction

5.4 Use of Scan Results

You may use scan results for:

• Internal compliance assessment and improvement
• Identifying potential compliance gaps
• Prioritizing compliance improvements

You may NOT:

• Rely on scan results as definitive legal compliance verification
• Use scan results to make legal claims against third parties
• Resell or redistribute scan results without our written permission

6. Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use PolicyGen Compliance to:

• Scan websites without authorization (only scan websites you own or have permission to scan)
• Attempt to overload or disrupt our service (rate limiting applies)
• Resell our scanner or monitoring service as a competing product
• Reverse engineer our software or algorithms
• Use scan results to harass, threaten, or make false claims against third parties
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Attempt to circumvent technical limitations or security measures

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Rights

PolicyGen Compliance and all associated trademarks, service marks, and logos are owned by us. Our software, design, and content are protected by copyright and other laws.

8.2 Your Rights

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use PolicyGen Compliance for its intended purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• PolicyGen Compliance is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of our Service
• We are not responsible for the legal accuracy or completeness of generated documents
• We are not liable for rejected government forms or applications
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PolicyGen Compliance from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of our Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any documents you generate or government forms you submit
